It can be hard for artists working alone to sustain momentum on comic projects that require effort over time such as graphic novels or web comic series that have a long story arc. Long Stories is 2 month test run for a group that exists to provide support and feedback for people who are working on larger or longer term comic projects (also known as longform comics).

While Long Stories is a casual, very unstructured group that includes some socializing and fun-having, attendees should have a specific comic project or projects that they have some commitment to and have already started (even 1 or 2 draft pages is fine). You do not need to be at all advanced or talented to join us, you just need a commitment to your project and an interest in giving and receiving support and, when requested, constructive feedback.

At each meeting as people arrive, we will ask folks to introduce themselves and what they're working on. Mostly, we'll just sit together and work and chat and have the occasional ad hoc discussion when someone has a question. Bring whatever tools and materials you need to draw and/or write that day. If you need to concentrate and work silently for a bit just let us know, that's okay too.

RSVPs are definitely not required but are very appreciated since we are trying to gauge interest in this event. If you are interested in a more social and less project focused group, there are other outstanding SICAGA events you should check out first.
