What we're about

Public Group

Since 2011, Sicaga has been the best place in Seattle to draw comics, make friends and have fun!

We are dedicated to inclusiveness, inspiration and support for aspiring sequential artists. Everyone is welcome, from seasoned professionals to total beginners. If you've always wanted to draw a comic but never even put pen to paper, the Sicaga community will get you started! You don't even need to draw comics to hang out with us, our members have included writers, coders, musicians even dancers! (There's a story behind that last one, ask us sometime.)

We've built our community around the idea of "encouragement before critique, critique to encourage." We want everyone who draws comics to feel empowered and motivated to try new things, build new skills, pursue their big project and make beautiful comics.

Sicaga hosts three weekly meetups and regular online work nights. We have a vibrant Discord chat server which we'll connect you with when you hang out with us. We coordinate lots of volunteer opportunities for comic artists through partners like The Bureau of Fearless Ideas and Sno-Isles Libraries. We've even created our own arts not for profit, The Sequential Inktank (http://sequentialinktank.org/), which is dedicated to supporting and promoting indie comics and comic artists.

In short, Sicaga is the heart of indie comics in Seattle. We're happy to have you join us!
