Kensington Metropark Hike and Blue Moon Concert Event

Details

Join us for a 3-mile hike around the nature trails starting at 6pm, followed by a Blue Moon Concert Event on Maple Beach starting at 8pm.
There will be food vendors at the beach (or bring your own food), so we can have dinner or snacks before/during the concert.

Blue Moon Concert Event details:
8pm: Travel back in time to the 1970s with The Geff Phillips Band performing The Best of Billy Joel & Elton John.
Throughout the concert, enjoy Blue Moon viewing stations, activities, and presentations by Metroparks staff and partners. Bring your telescope or binoculars to experience the moon at its biggest and brightest.
9pm: Show off your groovy 70s style in our "Best Dressed" contest for bragging rights and prizes!
10:15pm: The night culminates in a spectacular 15-minute live drone show.

Bring a chair or blanket to sit on during the concert.
NOTE: dogs are not allowed on the Kensington nature trails.
Cost: requires Metropark entry fee ($10/day or $40/year).

Note that we will be meeting at the West Boat Launch parking lot (NOT the Nature Center lot). This lot is close to the Kensington Road exit off of I-96. See map attached to this meetup.
After the hike we will move our cars to the Maple Beach parking lot.
