Free Breakfast followed by Adopt a Highway Cleanup

Join us for breakfast at IHOP in Brighton (FREE for any first-time volunteers) followed by 2 hours of doing something good for the planet by helping us cleanup the highway! We will have a "best trash" contest - with a prize for the person who finds the most interesting/funny piece of trash.

Everyone who has volunteered with us for past highway cleanup events has always enjoyed the comradery of our friendly group, and the satisfaction of knowing they helped.
We do not go near the freeway or the shoulder of the road, so you don't have to worry about safety.
Our adopted stretch of the I-96 highway in Brighton is in great need of cleaning - we need as much help as we can get to clean up our little part of the planet!

Bring/wear:

• work gloves (a good, sturdy pair)
• long work boots or hiking boots
• long pants (with cinch bottoms or ankle straps if you have them)
• water (we'll keep water in the cars which we will be going back and forth to)
• a "grabber bar" if you have one (we have several extras to loan)
• a snack (optional)

NOTE: Bags, vests, and bug spray will be provided
If this is your first Adopt A Highway please click here to watch a short video before committing to this event as a you will need to sign a paper saying you viewed it. We will give you safety instructions and answer any questions before begin.

We will meet at IHOP at 8:30am, then at 10am we will meet in the parking lot of Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men near Grand River & I-96 in Brighton, then follow each other in a few cars to the highway cleanup locations.
If you wish to skip breakfast, just meet us at 10am at the Lady Jane's parking lot.
