A family-friendly workshop focused on springs-friendly living and sustainable landscaping from 10am—1pm on Saturday, June 28th at the Historic Inverness Courthouse, One Courthouse Square, Inverness
Join us to learn and explore:
- Practical tips for sustainable landscaping and responsible fertilizer use
- Updates on efforts to protect our local waterways
- Actions you can take to protect our springs, wildlife, and improve water quality
- Video of local springs and wildlife
Presenters will include:
- Eugene Kelly of the Florida Native Plant Society on springs health
- Tiare Fridrich of Save the Manatee Club on efforts to protect manatees
- Sierra Club Florida Chapter’s Michael McGrath on the benefits of urban turf fertilizer restrictions during the rainy season
- IFAS Florida Friendly Landscaping Program’s Claire Lewis on Florida Friendly landscaping and resources.
Kids’ activities, free coloring sheets, and refreshments provided. Hosted by Sierra Club Florida Chapter and Adventure Coast Group in cooperation with Citrus Audubon, Citrus Native Plant Society, League of Women Voters of Citrus County, Linda Wilinski Photography, and other community leaders.
