Participants will be required sign a liability waiver at the trailhead to release the leader for any liability for mishaps that may occur during the course of this event.

Enjoy a scenic hike through Toro County Park near Salinas. Toro has some of the best wildflower displays in the Monterey Bay area.

Elevation 1000+ feet

Please note that some narrow trails are open to mountain bikes in this park and we may likely encounter some.

If you wish to hike fast and get back early, this is not the hike for you. Mellow hikers welcomed. Likely average pace 2 mph. Leader will make brief stops to identify flowers.

Meet: 10:30 AM in the last (farthest) parking lot on the right . Return to cars approximately 3:30 PM.

Level: Moderate (2B)

Cost: free

Bring: Lunch, liquids (at least two liters), and sweet/salty snacks. Well-fitting sturdy boots, a hat, and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles are useful for the uphill and downhill portions. There are no potable water sources on the route.

Directions: Take Ca 1 south to Nashua exit. Take Nashua South (becomes Cooper Rd) to Blanco Rd and turn right to Reservation Rd. Turn left on Reservation Rd to Ca 68. Go south 1 exit to the Portola Dr exit. Go right at the stop sign directly to the park.

Carpool: Recommend attendees organize their own carpools where it is convenient for them
