Enjoy sweeping views of Mt. Diablo and the San Ramon and Livermore Valley and a tree-lined descent into a secluded valley on this hike into the northern half of Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park.
About 12 - 13 miles and about 2,100 ft elevation gain.

There will be some steep uphills, a stream crossing and possibly some mud from recent rains. Poles might be helpful. Moderate pace; not for speed demons or gazelles, but not a hike for those just getting into shape.

• DO NOT attend if you are sick, coughing, sneezing, or have been around anyone who is sick.

Bring: Lunch, liquids, weather-appropriate clothing

Meet: at the Castleridge Trailhead Staging Area on Old Foothill Rd in Pleasanton, NOT at the larger Foothill Staging Area.

Additional Directions: From I-680, exit at Bernal Avenue and head west towards the hills. Turn right on Foothill Road. After 0.7 miles, turn left onto Old Foothill Rd., continue a short distance to trailhead.

Cancellation Policy: Rain, excessive heat, or poor air quality cancels.
