Wildflower Botany Hike to Liebre Mountain

Join us for a spring wildflower hike along a section of the Pacific Crest Trail to Liebre Mountain. This area has a diverse plant community and the blooms should be amazing and abundant. Round trip distance will be 7 miles with 1850' gain. We'll go at a relaxed pace, as we will be stopping often to admire all the different wildflower species and take photographs. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.
Level: Moderate.
Bring: Sturdy footwear, 2-3 liters of water, snacks, lunch, clothing layers, sun protection, and your filled-out emergency medical form (see below). You may also want to bring a magnifying glass for closer inspection of plants and flowers.

Getting to the trailhead: We will caravan to the trailhead as follows: Take I-5 north to SR 138. Go 4 miles east on SR 138 to a paved road signed as Old Ridge Route Road, which is the beginning of Los Angeles County Road N2. Turn right. Go 2.2 miles east to Pine Canyon Road (which is a continuation of N2). Turn left. Go 4.2 miles east on N2, passing mile marker 13.6. Park along the highway.
