Let's Restore the Arroyo Seco - Hybrid Program
Details
Pasadena has a historic opportunity to restore ecosystem health to the Arroyo Seco by bringing a forgotten stream back to life: Seco Creek, which flows through Brookside Park just below the Rose Bowl. For thousands of years this stream supported birds, fish, insects, and native plants. Now the City of Pasadena is planning to use it to recharge groundwater beneath the Brookside Park parking lot. Wouldn't it be far better to reconnect some of the stream flow to the Arroyo Seco stream and restore wetlands at the confluence?
Our presenter will be Tim Brick, Executive Director of the Stewards of the Arroyo Seco and a former chair of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Over his long career in public service, Tim focused on water resource management and environmental stewardship.
