RATTLESNAKE CYN TO GIBRALTER RD: Out and Back - 5 miles total (2.5 miles each way). Moderate incline for first 1.75 mile with an elevation gain of 1,000’ which is pretty shady and riparian, the remaining 0.75 miles to the road is steeper with an additional gain of 750’ and is more exposed. A strenuous hike for a moderate hiker or a moderate hike for a strenuous hiker. Bring the usual supplies you need: Plenty of water, snacks, layers for all occasions and good footware.
