Thanks so much for being a Santa Barbara Sierra Club member! Our Santa Barbara Group has partnered with the Community Environmental Council and the Fearless Grandmothers. Together we are hosting Fridays forFuture the first Friday of every month in 2026.

We gather with fellow activists, students, allies, community partners, and friends. Our goal is to create a gathering space where individuals can take collective action, get educated, and collaborate to protect our planet. These monthly gatherings facilitate inspired grassroots action to combat climate change in quantifiable ways.
Our next gathering will be at the Community Environmental Council Hub.

We will gather between 4-5:30pm on Friday, April 3 to learn about efforts to form a new Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Santa Barbara County. Azsha Hudson, the Environmental Defense Center's Marine Conservation Analyst and Program Manager, Bella Sullivan, The Natural Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) Next Wave Ocean Fellow, and Lennon Thomas, a UC Santa Barbara Project Researcher will highlight the critical role MPAs play in sustaining our ocean, assess the performance of California’s MPA network, and discuss how we can expand it. Come learn, connect with your community, and discover ways to take action for the future of our ocean!

We would love to have you and your friends join the gathering. We also welcome collaborative ideas for your involvement.
See you in 2026!
