Vernal Pools Exploration Hike at Lake Ann Pathway
Details
We will investigate a number of Vernal Ponds along the trails at the Lake Ann Pathway. Lots of beautiful woods, trails, vernal pools/ponds, and lakes to explore together. Hoping for warmer weather the day of the hike so we might see some Wood Frogs or other amphibian activity. Bring water and a snack as we might stay a while if the frogs are active.
We will meet at the Trail Head Parking Lot near the Lake Ann State Forest Campground. You will need your State Recreation passport ("P" on your License Plate Tag).
Trails could be wet or muddy? Good hiking boots recommended. Please RSVP so that we know to meet you in the parking area. No Dogs allowed on this hike.
A liability form will need to be signed by all participants on this or any Sierra Club Outing.
Participation Details:
For all our hikes, please remember to bring comfortable hiking shoes, a water bottle, food, and the season’s weather appropriate clothing. We hike together as a group. Participation in Sierra Club activities requires registration and acceptance of a waiver, which you can complete online at the link above. Electronic copies of the required waiver are available online or by request and will be accepted automatically by signing-in to the event. Paper sign in sheet will be available at check in.
All hikes are free and open to everyone, but donations are gratefully accepted to help support ongoing stewardship and programming.
Cancellation Policy:
The hike will proceed rain, snow, or shine. However, if an Extreme Weather Warning is issued by the National Weather Service, the hike will be canceled for safety reasons.
