About us
The Sierra Club is the largest and oldest (founded in 1892) grassroots environmental organization in the world. The Clearwater Conservation Network of the Sierra Club serves 11 counties in northern central to northwest Michigan. Our mission is to get people outside to enjoy the natural world leading to their understanding and desire to protect it for our families and for our future.

BaldyTrail Arcadia Dunes Fall Hike
Arcadia Dunes Baldy Trailhead, Trail to Baldy, Arcadia, MI 49613, USA, Arcadia, MI, USWe will hike about 3 miles of trails through the forest and up the dunes of the C.S. Mott Nature Preserve. The trails include some long hills, steps, wooden and gravel walkways, viewing platform and a 356 Ft. Steep Bluff view over Lake Michigan. We will be on the lookout for migrating birds, fall color and wild flowers.
There are restroom at the beginning of the trail. Arcadia Dunes as part of the C.S Mott Nature Preserve are in Manistee and Benzie County and are protected by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. Register and complete online waiver here!Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress according to the weather conditions. Bring water, a camera, and a friend.
A liability form will need to be signed by all participants on this or any Sierra Club Outing. Complete online here or when you arrive for the hike.
Participation Details:
For all our hikes, please remember to bring comfortable hiking shoes, a water bottle, food, and the season’s weather appropriate clothing. Participation in Sierra Club activities requires registration and acceptance of a waiver, which you can complete online at the link above. Electronic copies of the required waiver are available online or by request and will be accepted automatically by signing-in to the event. Paper sign in sheet will be available at check in.
All hikes are free and open to everyone, but donations are gratefully accepted to help support ongoing stewardship and programming.Cancellation Policy:
The hike will proceed rain, snow, or shine. However, if an Extreme Weather Warning is issued by the National Weather Service, the hike will be canceled for safety reasons.4 attendees
