What we're about

Come and play ultimate frisbee with startup folk near Old St's 'Silicon Roundabout' in Shoreditch Park. No experience / links to a startup necessary, you mainly need a willingness to run around after a flying disc for a couple of hours - it's really fun!

Between April - September we play every Thursday evening when it's not raining.

Off-season it's ad hoc - we sometimes have games at weekends, which sometimes turn into board games.

Upcoming events (4+)

Indoor Ultimate Frisbee in *Hackney Community College* on Thursday evenings

Hackney Community College

**Thursday Indoors (Ultimate Frisbee)**

It's too dark to play weekday ultimate outside, so we've booked a venue to play frisbee indoors! As this is indoors, sadly space is limited - and it also costs money: £5 per person per session.

It's 2 hours - but usually 6-6:30 will be throwing/warm-up. The rest of the time is super casual 5v5 pick-up games. As always, all skill levels are welcome! We're happy to teach if you're happy to learn. You just have to be ready to run around a lot :)

*Pre-booking*
We're opening sign up for all sessions before Christmas at once. Sign up and message the host (Jacob) to pay (£5 x the number of sessions you signed up for) by Wed 22nd. Please ensure you pay by your first session, otherwise you'll loose your spots. After that, signups for any remaining places will open a week before each session, and there'll be a waitlist if we are oversubscribed. If you drop out in enough time for your spot to be taken from the waitlist, you will of course get a refund :)

*Dates*
- Sun 19th Sep 11am: Booking opens for all Sep-Dec sessions
- Wed 22nd Sep: Payment deadline, message Jacob for details
- Thu 23rd Sep 6pm: First indoor session!

*Location*
We're playing in a sports hall (basketball court) next to Hackney Community College - it's left of the main entrance (not through it), via the parking lot, down the side of the building all the way to the rear - you should see automatic doors that lead to the reception.

COVID stuff:
- Please don't attend if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who now has symptoms
- Although many restrictions have been lifted, please still actively engage in social distancing wherever possible
- If you get a positive COVID test within 10 days of attending, please let us know so we can inform other attendees
- You'll get a refund if you miss a session due to COVID related reasons

- Afterwards we always head to a pub garden and have a drink or two :)

- Frisbee is a non-contact sport, but the occasional bumps can happen, we're all playing at our own risk

In terms of equipment, as it's an indoor basketball court:
- indoor, non-marking shoes (like most trainers)
- a light AND a dark top
- water (you can refill your bottle in the toilets)

Facilities include:
- bike parking (you can park near the entrance of the gym at the back of the building)
- changing rooms
- showers
- bathrooms
- lockers (costs 20p) - or we just put our bags at the side of the pitch

Ultimate Frisbee in *Haggerston Park* on Saturday afternoons

Ultimate Frisbee Pickup! All experience welcome!

Saturdays will be in ***Haggerston Park***

COVID stuff:
- Please don't attend if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who now has symptoms
- Although many restrictions have been lifted, please still actively engage in social distancing wherever possible (eg avoid shouting stall counts into people's faces and keep a loose mark)
- We'll be cleaning the discs regularly
- If you get a positive COVID test within 10 days of attending, please yet us know so we can inform other attendees

Main details:
- For first-timers: you're very welcome, no experience necessary, we can teach you the rules and how to play. You just need a willingness to run around a LOT! Bring trainers (or cleats/football boots) and clothes you can run in and plenty of water

- Please try to wear an unambiguously light or dark top (or even better bring both!) as this makes splitting into teams easier

- Throwing from 2:00pm ish, we'll kick off a friendly pick-up game around 2:15. It's fine if you can only make it later on - we play with substitutes so you can join in at any point. If no one is there when you arrive, don't worry, people are probably just late! If the meetup is not cancelled, frisbee will be happening!

- Afterwards we always head to a pub garden and have a drink or two :)

- Frisbee is a non-contact sport, but the occasional bumps can happen, we're all playing at our own risk
