7:15 - 7:45pm - HERO Note Introduction - Matthew Lopez, Managing Partner at Wolf and Snow, and Greg Fisher, Head of Hardware at Silicon Valley in Your Pocket, will introduce the HERO (Hardware Equity and Revenue Optimization) note, explain the purpose, expand on its unique details, and answer questions.

7:45pm - 8:15pm - HERO Note Discussion - A panel of investors, startups, and Matthew Lopez will have a candid discussion of how the note can be applied to their particular situations, the pros and cons, and its implications for fundraising for hardware startups.

8:15 - 9:30pm - Networking with tasty treats and beverages

The HERO note was developed by Silicon Valley in Your Pocket in partnership with the law firm, Wolf and Snow, to address the many challenges hardware startups have in raising money from institutional investors. It creates a relationship between products sold and investment return that can be tweaked in a flexible manner to help investors de-risk their investment while allowing startups to provide value directly from their units sold. It is built to work in conjunction with traditional notes, and can be absorbed into future rounds as needed, to keep the financial mechanisms straightforward and easy to use.
