Hands-On Training: Level 1 (Session 2): Successful Ansible

  • Jul 12, 2014 · 2:00 PM

This session will assist users with their first playbooks. The users should be able to already ssh to their AWS instances and do the exercise_01 and exercise_02.

We will discuss executing modules from the ansible command. We will then begin looking at Playbooks and review all of the playbook task examples (but not yet roles).

This is an ONLINE session through Google Hangouts. The Google Hangout link is private and will only be shared with members who have RSVP'd yes. The Google Hangout will only support 10 people in a session.

This is a GO AT YOUR OWN PACE session. And, you will want to practice while we work together. It is a practice session.

A Linux/Unix (including Mac OSX) machine. Ansible does not currently support Windows.

About how long does the session go for? Thanks!

Excellent question. These sessions are 50 minutes each. I just saw that the MeetUp site had a default time much longer (which is a mistake). But, a fortuitous one), if we have participants who want to proceed to the next level (2), we can continue. But, this is intended to be 50 minutes

A very civilized amount of time. Thanks!

Reminder everyone: If the "YES" RSVPd attendees do not show up on time, we open it to the waiting list. We hadn't yet had the Google Hangouts completely filled up yet.

Also, Google is being just a tad evil. They require a Google Plus account to be able to use Google Hangouts (even the private ones). Unfortunately, this is the only tool we have that works for online meetings like this. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
