Viva CalleSJ - June Event

Viva CalleSJ (pronounced Vee-Va Ka-Ye SJ) is a free public event hosted by City of San Jose that closes miles of streets. It's a fun family event, not a race.

Non-unicycle guests are welcome to join us on bicycles, kick scooters, skates, skateboards, running shoes, etc.

TIME

Meet at 9:30am, start riding at 10am.

Streets re-open to vehicles at 3pm.

PARKING

Street parking.

MEETING LOCATION

Meet at the Bay Wheels bike share station located at the north corner of the intersection of E Santa Clara St and S 17th St.

Total distance: 9.8 miles

SKILLS

Suitable for advanced beginner unicyclists due to the distance and the fact that we'll be riding alongside a lot of people (cyclists, runners, walkers, kids, etc.) Be able to free mount and ride forward for a few miles. If you are brand new to unicycling but would like to join the festivities with us, come on a bicycle if you don't mind riding slow.

WHAT TO BRING

• Unicycle from 24" and up, or any human-powered vehicle
• Helmet is required to ride with SVUG. Other protective gear such as knee/skin guards, elbow pads, gloves, etc. is recommended
• Hydration
• Sunscreen
• Snacks or money for food along the way
• Bike lock in case you find interesting activities at the activity hubs

AGE REQUIREMENT

If you are under 18 years of age, you can attend this meetup only if accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian who should also sign up as a participant.

By signing up for this meetup, you and your guest(s) agree to release us (SVUG's organizer, co-organizers and assistant organizers) from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, now and in the future, arising out of or in any way connected with your participation, transportation to or from, attendance at this meetup. You and your guest(s) also agree that you bear all responsibilities if a person, such as another participant, a passerby or a bystander, is injured or property is damaged caused by your action. You further waive any and all rights and benefits otherwise conferred by any statutory or non-statutory law of any jurisdiction that would purport to limit the scope of a release or waiver.
