"Photo Forum" is our monthly opportunity to share ideas, images, questions, and inspirations on a wide variety of photographic topics.

## Open Forum Presentations and Discussions:
“The Gear You Want and Need – Tripod Heads and Travel Tripods” – Dennis Freeman
Discover the perfect balance of stability and portability in this guide to Tripod Heads & Travel Tripods. This 30-minute presentation will explore how to choose the right head for your needs—whether you prioritize speed with a ball head or precision for macro work. There will also be a discussion of gimbals and how valuable they can be, especially for birds in flight. Additionally, you’ll learn what to look for in a travel tripod to ensure it’s your ideal companion for flights, hiking, or club field trips.
“Dramatic Improvements to Your Photographs Through Masking” – Pete Morton
Unlock the full potential of your images with the Photo Forum’s Beginner to Advanced Masking presentation. From mastering subject selection to expert-level luminance and color range controls in Lightroom and Photoshop, you’ll learn the precise techniques needed to make your photos stand out. Some of the techniques will be shown with the photographs submitted for Image Sharing. This 30-minute presentation will be fun and very useful!

Send up to 2 images you would like to share and get feedback on.
You have a choice of receiving image critiques, editing suggestions, or just sharing. Indicate which you would like in your email.
This month’s theme will be “OPEN.”
Send up to 2 jpg images. Your jpg images can be up to 1 MB size each. Include your name in the filename. We are looking for volunteers to present for this and future months. Contact Dennis ( dennisfreeman4510 at msn.com ) with your idea.
This is expected to be a great evening of sharing and learning. What topics would you like to explore? Topics can be wide ranging, such as photo book reviews, an aspect of your own photography that you’d like to share, reviews or discussion of shows, photo gear, software, etc.

About the Silver Spring Camera Club
We meet the first three Thursdays of every month, September – May, and one day each month on a weekend for a field trip to an interesting photogenic location in the area.
