What we're about

50+ Ski with Us has been a very popular ongoing program at Breckenridge and Keystone for senior skiers and boarders for many years. Due to Covid restrictions, it was discontinued and will not be sanctioned again by Vail Resorts until further notice. The purpose of this group is to provide a platform for our 50+ Ski with Us community to continue to get together and have fun responsibly and safely on our own.

We have regular weekly ski day get-togethers at Breckenridge and Keystone plus occasional pick-up days at other resorts and other miscellaneous events throughout the year.

We try to accommodate skiers and riders of solid intermediate (blue) level and above.

Each morning we will break into smaller groups according to ability level and type of terrain desired. We will try to provide one or more experienced and knowledgeable leaders for each group. If enough leaders are not available, you may need to just ski as a group on your own.

Our group member's children and guests of any age are always welcome.

Our leaders are not guides, but merely facilitators of group skiing. We are not trained professionals and receive no compensation in any form. You are ultimately responsible to make your own decisions based on your own judgement regarding your personal safety. Please familiarize yourself with both the Skier Responsibility Code and the Colorado Skier Safety Act.

Tuesday Road Bike Ride

North Pond Park

Let's start our summer events with a 24 mile ride from North Pond Park in Silverthorne to Keystone Village and back on the bike path. Taking an easy pace, only as fast as our slowest rider, this ride should still provide a great offseason workout. Mostly a gentle climb on the way there, and downhill coming back. A few steeper hills, but they are short. At Keystone, we can take a break and catch a cold refreshment at the Inxspot or whatever we might find open. Meet at 9:30 and in the saddle by 9:45. If anyone is pressed for time, you are welcome to turn back on your own at any time. Don't forget water and sunscreen.

Thursday MTB Trail Ride

Frisco Nordic Center

For our first MTB ride, let's do the closest thing Summit Co has to a true beginner trail. That being said, the Perimeter Trail on the Frisco Peninsula is a total blast. It is about 6.5 miles of fun! We'll plan on riding the loop clockwise. For those wanting a bit more, we can add on the cool new Sky Pilot downhill flow trail and even explore the brand new Queen of the West trail. No real technical terrain, any decent mountain bike will suffice. We can gladly slow our pace to allow for any newbies to the MTB scene. Guests always welcome. No dogs on this one.
(I have an extra bike if anyone wants to use it, just text or message me / John[masked])
