Topic 1: Optimising Docker images for Java
DevOps Practise adoption exploded in the past couple of years thanks to the Overall Industry’s Digital transformation, accelerated by Containerisation (Docker) and Orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies which made “Shift-Left” in Operations and Security easier than ever. So, today we will discuss, what Developers can contribute to this paradigm shift in the area of Application containerization, especially application runtime and security

Speaker 1: Prasad CH
Prasad CH works as Architect at Viseo Asia, Singapore with 10+ years of experience across Java and Javascript ecosystems. He worked as Full stack developer and Tech Lead before venturing into Cloud and Devops Practices bringing developer experience into Devops practice. He’s Java and Kubernetes Enthusiast helping teams small and big with their Digital transformation journeys on both Cloud and On-Premise.

Topic 2: Green IT using refactoring
With the exponential growth and use of technical systems in our lives increase, so is the power consumption due to them. As an energy conscious community, we developers need to think about our power consumption due to our code. This talk will help to realise the importance of refactoring to achieve our input towards sustainable earth.
We will be discussing metrics and methods of refactoring and its impact on energy consumption.

Speaker 2: Jai Prakash
Jai Prakash is a Consultant at Zenika, Singapore with 9+ years of technology experience in the Java ecosystem. Jai has bootstrapped, built and successfully sold Bhojansala.in, a Pune based food startup in 2016. He writes articles on Linkedin and conducts technical seminars.
