What we’re about
Singapore Classical Concerts Meetup are for anyone interested in attending classical music concerts of great composers and philharmonic orchestras!
Please note that the idea of a meetup group is to meetup and attend concerts and build a community of classical music enthusiasts and appreciation where we can discuss and chat about classical music together. In this regard, we are taking No-Shows seriously. For authenticity and good manners, as a responsible adult, please ensure if you are not attending to un-RSVP in advance at least 1 day before the concert so that the host for the day does not need to wait for you. Please provide proper respect and communication to the meetup host and other members for easier coordination on the day of the concert meetup.
( Note: From time to time different members of our meetup group may want to host a classical event, do note that these are done entirely on their own initiative for that particular event and they take responsibility accordingly. )

Hi Folks
What is Orchestra of Music Makers (OMM) and How are they different from SSO?
Briefly, OMM is a Singaporean symphony orchestra made up of young musicians both amateurs ( non-professional) and professional.
The name was take from a poem to reflect their aspirations and goals of a new orchestra made up of youthful musicians in support of musicians like themselves.
The Orchestra of the Music Makers' name is derived from the poem Ode by Arthur O'Shaughnessy,[6] which reads:
> We are the music makers,
> And we are the dreamers of dreams,
> Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
> And sitting by desolate streamsOMM's music director, conductor Chan Tze Law, who is also an associate director at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, National University of Singapore
