Houdini FX Workshop: 5 days of training from VFX Mojo

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This workshop is for existing Houdini users that have basic Houdini skills but are lacking confidence to start independent projects or feeling lost when following advanced tutorials or courses. If you're already familiar with Houdini's interface, basics of geometry manipulation, lights, cameras, flipbooks, caching and attributes, this 5-day workshop is for you!
You will learn all about Attributes, Particles, Rigid Body Dynamics (RBD) simulations, Pyro Simulations, Collisions, optimization techniques and much more. You will do all of that using Houdini 20*, Solaris and Karma. This hands-on experience equips you to tackle real-world VFX challenges confidently.

How to know if you are ready for this workshop? Your answer to all the questions below should be “yes”.

1. Can I model a procedural chair and a table?
2. Can I animate lights and cameras?
3. Can I create groups and apply materials to different parts of my geometry?
4. Can I render a flipbook of my work to disk?

About Maria and Karim Sahai, VFX Mojo

Karim Sahai is a visual effects supervisor with over 30 years of experience in the film and television industry. Throughout his career, Karim has created and supervised visual effects for some of the most iconic movies and TV shows of our time, including Dune Part Two, Avatar, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, The Avengers and over 40 more films and series. Karim Sahai's unique background in photography has enabled him to bring a fresh perspective to visual effects, blending his technical expertise, knowledge of the latest technology with his artistic vision. Through his teaching, Karim has inspired countless artists to find their own creative voice and push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of visual effects.

Maria Sahai is a multi-talented visual effects artist and educator, with a background in photography. Her numerous travels to the arctic regions of the world - Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Svalbard are where she first developed a deep passion for creating stunning visual imagery that evokes a sense of wonder and awe in the viewer. Over the years, Maria Sahai has combined her love of photography with her technical skills and creativity, teaching herself how to use computers as a tool for the creation of captivating visual effects. Her expertise in creating complex visual simulations using the Sidefx Houdini software has made her a sought-after talent in the film and television industry, with credits on multiple feature films and TV shows including “Guillermo del Toro's 'Cabinet of Curiosities”, “Halo”, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, “Meg 2: The Trench”, “Dune: Part Two”. Maria is passionate in sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring artists, helping them to develop the skills needed to create their own stunning visual effects.
