Transforming API Requests into Kafka Messages: Bridging API Gateways and Event-Driven Architectures

Abstract:
In today’s cloud-native ecosystem, organizations are increasingly adopting event-driven architectures to achieve scalability, resilience, and real-time data processing. A critical step in this transformation is connecting synchronous API-driven interactions with asynchronous message streams. This session explores how to seamlessly transform API requests into Kafka messages, enabling downstream services to consume and process data in real time.
In this session we will illustrate this approach using AWS API Gateway or Kong API Gateway, demonstrating how REST-based request can be transformed into Apache Kafka’s messages.
