SPEAKER INFO
Talk 1 - Before Launch: Getting Your First 1000 Signups
by Bryan Long
Description - In this first session, Bryan will share an overview of what Lean Marketing is - the application of Lean Startup principles to marketing practices. He will then share how he got 1000 people to sign up to his landing page for a startup he was experimenting with. Hopefully, he will have enough time to share some best practices of how others have gotten their first customers.
Speaker - Bryan (https://www.meetup.com/Singapore-Lean-Startup-Circle/events/130721322/www.bryanlong.org) is the Organiser and Go-to Guy for Singapore Lean Startup Circle. He is also a speaker, mentor and organiser of the Lean Startup Machine (http://leanstartupmachine.com/events/leansg/). After experiencing a massive failure with his first startup, he realised that ideas are easy but acting on wrong ideas can be quite costly. This is why he's zealous to pass on what he's learnt to others at LeanStart.Me (https://www.meetup.com/Singapore-Lean-Startup-Circle/events/130721322/%22http:/www.leanstart.me). He's currently working on his third startup.
Talk 2 - After Launch: Getting Your First Customers in the First 90 Days of Your Launch
by Ian Tay
Description - After validating their business ideas with your target customers, startups get ready to go into marketing and selling mode. During this session, Ian will share three practical ways to get to your customers once you have launched your startup.
Speaker - Ian is a founder of PixaRoll, (http://pixaroll.com/smile/) Asia's first printing and delivery service on mobile devices. Ian decided to have a go at getting his hands filled after spending years at Fuji Xerox and HP as a paper pusher. Passionate about tech and startups, he freely gives advice and thoughts on future printing trends and corporate experiences to fellow entrepreneurs.
Talk 3 - Relaunching: Rebuilding a Non-Profit Orchestra
by Toshi Iwata
Description: Classical music is probably one of the most difficult businesses to measure customer satisfaction. Many groups, including professionals, don’t realize that they just satisfy themselves rather than their customers. In this talk, Toshi shares how he used Lean principles to rebuild the customer base of his orchestra after the devastating Kobe earthquake in 1995. Toshi redefined what "concert" really means, and put a strategy to differentiate themselves from competitors. They did many experiments, from design to program, in every concert. They focused on the customer experience, not just the great music.
Speaker - Toshi is a cosmetic formulation scientist with broad experience in all aspects of consumer products development at Procter & Gamble. In P&G he also serves as the trainer for problem solving to all parts of global R&D. Besides his work, he has been passionate about conducting orchestras and teaching young orchestral players and conductors for 25 years. He also started up a Non-Profit Company to promote enlightened and fulfilled community through promoting music and served as the CEO for the first 3 years, and currently is the adviser to the board.
