What da flying heck is Philosophy?

In the previous Meetup session, we brought up the idea of a different pathway for future discussions where we would have a parallel track discussing about philosophy as if we were in an Introduction to Philosophy course.

This is the first of the said track, and while we hope to introduce many philosophical topics in the future, this session will be more about questioning and figuring out (if possible)... the aim of philosophy itself and how one engages in philosophy academically.

For the first session, we probably will have to lay out some groundwork for conducive discussions. Be prepared to participate, as these sessions are meant to be more seminar-style rather than a lecture (or we will be very lonely talking to ourselves). For subsequent sessions, there will be compulsory readings involved, and we understand that everyone is busy, but this will be crucial for all discussions (Chat GPT also helps; just saying).

Caveat: the moderators are not in academia (well, somewhat), but we will try our best to have fruitful discussions, acquire more knowledge from one another, or really just make more friends along the way.

This is just an experiment, so please do keep an open mind, and let's all have fun together in the process!
