"Multi-tasking with Python: An Intro to Async Programming" by Yu Jia
Confused about how to use async and await in Python? In this talk, we will cover the basic concepts of asynchronous programming, as well as a quick overview and demo of how to use asyncio and other asynchronous libraries in Python. Lastly, broader issues around asynchronous coding in Python and a practical industrial application will be presented.
Yu Jia is an applied mathematician turned developer who is passionate about sustainable development. She began her career as a data scientist at BeeBryte before pivoting to a backend engineering role, where she builds tools to remotely control and optimise heating and cooling systems in industrial buildings. In her spare time, she likes to read, row, and hike.
