Let's talk about the "Revolution in Rojava"

Details
During the Syrian civil war that broke out in 2011, the Kurdish-majority region known as "Rojava" gained de facto autonomy. It has since become the site of an ongoing --- but seemingly fragile --- experiment to implement an inclusive, multi-ethnic, secular, feminist society based on "democratic confederalism" (or so its proponents claim).
Could this be the real deal: anarchist ideals in practice?
Let's eat foodstuffs and/or drink the hot local beverages of our respective choices, read, discuss, and try to get some sort of handle on what's been going on there.
Below, I've collected some relevant video/audio links, organized roughly by length from short to long. No need to watch them all, but feel free to check out whichever ones are calling you, or use them as a starting point to seek out your own info.
