**...to enjoy more radical amounts of urban lifestyle, that is.

Anyway, Peter Kropotkin was born into an aristocratic family in Russia in 1842. At age 12, he renounced his given title of "Prince" and went on to become one of the most influential intellectual leaders among anarchist movements.

The young Kropotkin undertook extensive geographical survey expeditions for the Russian state, leading him to ponder issues of biology and anthropology that later informed his work MUTUAL AID (1902). By chronicling the ubiquity of cooperative behavior among animals and throughout human history, Mutual Aid countered the 'Social Darwinist', "Nature-wants only-the-'strongest'-individuals-to-flourish-and-dominate" sentiments used to justify all manner of exploitation and inequality in that time.

In other works such as The Conquest of Bread (1892) and Fields, Factories, and Workshops (1899), he further elaborated his anarcho-communist ideals.

Basically, friends of friendship, we're closing in on our 10th Meetup together, and it's high time we read and discussed some Kropotkin already. How about we start with his essay entitled ...
