What we’re about
NAQSHBANDI MUJADDIDI SUFI ORDER IN SINGAPORE.
SILENT SUFI MEDITATION
Verily in the remembrance of God do hearts find tranquility" Qur’an 13:28
An-Nu'man ibn Bashir (ra) narrated that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal) said,
"Surely there is in the body a small piece of flesh; if it is good, the whole body is good, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, and that is surely the heart".
Our practices start by focusing on the heart. From the time a student receives the first transmission from the Shaykh, his or her Qalb is being gradually awakened.
The tongue may tire of repeating dhikr for any length of time. But the awakened heart busies itself in recollecting the Almighty Allah every moment. This is called dhikr al qalb.
Step by step, veils of darkness give way to light, understanding, and insight.
To activate and enlighten your heart, please come and join with us and try our practices.
Every Saturday,15 mins before Maghrib Adhaan,we'll begin with a short explanation on how to do the meditation, and then sit together in meditation.
Following this we'll have light refreshments and a chance to meet some more experienced students of men and women, then a talk giving some background to the Singapore Sufi Centre and our meditation practices.
Please arrive 15mins before Maghrib Prayer, so as to benefit from the short introductory talk.
The meditation will start promptly after Maghrib Prayer when the front door will be closed so as to ensure an undisturbed period of solitude.
