About us

Meeting someone new should feel easier than it often does.

Yet for many singles, the usual ways of meeting people have started to feel repetitive, exhausting or disconnected from how people naturally interact.

Dating apps have changed the way people approach connection.

Constant access to new profiles, endless choice and split-second decisions have encouraged people to move on quickly, hesitate before investing in a conversation and judge compatibility before someone’s personality has had the chance to emerge.

Traditional singles events have not always adapted to that change.

Speed dating can feel rushed. Large mixers can leave people working the room, moving from one short conversation to another without enough time to genuinely connect.

Over a decade of running singles events, we began to notice that simply placing a group of people in the same venue was no longer enough.

People had become more selective with their time, more cautious about entering unfamiliar social settings alone and more likely to remain within the comfort of the people or spaces they already knew.

So Social Mingles evolved.

Today, we design singles events and social experiences around the way people actually meet, communicate and connect.

We understand that not everyone feels comfortable walking into a crowded room and approaching a stranger without a reason. We also understand that always choosing the safest and most familiar option can limit the people you meet, the experiences you have and the confidence you build.

That is why Social Mingles offers different ways to meet.

The Covert Series

Our Covert Series uses mystery, missions and interaction-based mechanics to give people a natural reason to approach one another.

Rather than relying on forced introductions or expecting people to work the room, each experience creates a shared objective that helps conversations begin with less pressure.

The mission may be fictional, but the interactions are real.

The Unhinged Series

Our Unhinged Series takes a more playful and unpredictable approach.

It encourages people to step outside their comfort zone, take a few social risks and show more of their personality.

Playing it safe may feel comfortable, but it rarely creates memorable interactions or personal growth. These experiences are designed to interrupt the usual social routine and encourage people to be more spontaneous, expressive and open to the unexpected.

The Just Meet Series

Not everyone wants a mission, a challenge or a crowded event.

Our Just Meet Series brings together a small group of singles over coffee, lunch, dinner or drinks in a relaxed, self-led setting.

There are no games, no formal rotations and no large room to navigate. Just a few people meeting in an environment that allows conversations to last longer and develop more naturally.

A Different Way to Meet

Each Social Mingles format is different, but the thinking behind them is the same.

We do not believe connection can be forced.

We believe the environment matters.

The right setting can make it easier for someone to approach, start a conversation, reveal more of their personality and remain present long enough to discover whether a connection is there.

Social Mingles is not about collecting matches or meeting every person in the room.

It is about creating better opportunities to meet someone in real life, away from the endless profiles, quick judgements and familiar routines that can keep people disconnected.

The way people meet has changed.

We believe singles events should change with it.

Built Differently

While much of the events industry focuses on social media reach, follower counts and photos that make a room appear popular, our attention is somewhere else.

We are the ones studying what happens inside the room.

We observe how people approach one another, where conversations stall, why groups form, what makes someone feel comfortable enough to participate and what helps people move beyond the social habits that keep them stuck.

We test different formats, refine the mechanics and continue learning from the way singles interact in real environments.
That may make us the geeks of the singles events industry.

We are comfortable with that.

Because our goal is not simply to fill a room or create content for social media.

It is to design better ways for people to meet.
