Details

Please read all to the end. Registration for this event will open two month before at $20pp. On April 24 the price will go up to $30pp. All food and equipment is on your own.

This is a large group campsite that holds 75 people but there is room for 15-18 cars if we park "carefully". The parking is adjacent to the campground...no long walk. YES, you can sleep in your car and the fee remains the same. The fee is for 1-2 nights camping. There are no discounts. There are no refunds. This event is capped at 18 people. There are 2 group campsites which share a bathroom with flush toilets, running water, and hot shower. Our campsite will have a covered pavilion in case of rain. There are several Adirondack shelters as well for storage of stuff in the event of rain (not tents).

Nestled in the rolling hills of Georgia's upper Piedmont, this is one of northern Georgia's best kept secrets. A beautiful stream flows through the park, providing the perfect setting for an after-picnic stroll. Hikers can follow either the short nature trail or the longer perimeter trail that travels through hardwoods and crosses creeks. Animal lovers should keep an eye out for wildlife while passing food plots along the perimeter trail. Two small ponds are open for public fishing, and a swimming pool is open during summer. Campers can stay overnight in the small, comfortable campground.

There are multiple picnic tables throughout. We will use the picnic tables under the pavilion for group meals and eating together. Bring a small table for your self cooking if no tables are available...but I don't see that.

There is a huge fire ring with 3 large benches and plenty of room to put your camp chair as well. Every camper is to bring 2 bundles of firewood. Even in warm months its nice to have a campfire at night.

What to Bring:

Basics:
Tent or hammock (hammock space may be limited, bring a tent as back up); Sleeping bag or other bedding; Air mattress or sleeping pad
Camp chair; Flashlight or headlamp
Comfortable, layered clothing. Remember this is Memorial Day weekend. I didn't book Monday but we can add later.

Everyone is required to bring two bundle of fire wood....as less people than I expected.

Food for the weekend:
Dinner for Friday, BLD for Saturday, B for Sunday,

If you plan to cook your meals, you need to bring a stove or grill, or plan to borrow one. Don't forget your utensils, pots, plate, cup, etc. Keep in mind you will need supplies to also wash these items, such as a dishpan and detergent. Nothing will be provided. You can prearrange to share food with a friend but there will be no buffet type meals due to covid.

Personal items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, medications, and deodorant.

If you want to hike on Saturday and/or Sunday, bring your hiking boots, poles and day pack (rain gear, first aid kit, snacks, water)....separate sign up required. We will have an organized hike on Saturday and you need to sign up separately.

Here you can find park rules at any Georgia State Park. There is a $5 parking fee but you can check out a parking pass at your local library. $50 annual pass; $25 for seniors.
