The AccuWeather forecast for Christmas day is "warm with the temperature approaching the record of 75 set in 2015 with sun and some clouds; feeling more like spring than Christmas." A perfect day for a winter float!
We'll float Johnson Ferry to Paces Mill, about 7 miles as the heron flies.
Meet at the CRNRA boat ramp @ Johnson Ferry Road and Columns Drive (https://tinyurl.com/3p65yf8r) at 11 am to unload gear and organize the shuttle.
Santa hats are encouraged!
This is BYOB of course, as the outfitters are closed for the winter, and a PFD is required. The trip does not include any rapids but there are a few shoals. Please don't sign up if this is your first time kayaking a river.
