HIKE: THE NEW Island Ford

Island Ford is now open and will be the rage. All the trails are new and you won't recognize it. We will meet at the first parking lot on the left and walk all the new trails. We are trying to do 5.5 miles. If short we will add the lollipop and maybe just maybe we will do it anyway. We will walk the Beech Creek Loop (purple) and the Inner Loop (green). We may have to retrace our steps if we are "lost". They have maps at the visitor center.

Island Ford features an updated and newly signed trail network following the completion of the Island Ford Trail Project. The newly designed system features official trail names, new map posts, wayfinding signs, and a new one-mile Pond Loop.

There is a restroom at the visitor center. Parking will be tight on a Sat am. Arrive 15 min early. You can buy parking pass and annual pass or America the beautiful Pass (62+) at the visitor center which opens at 9am.

Parking $5 or purchase a CRNRA annual pass at the visitor center.
