We are going to hike the East Palisades Trail on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, climbing to beautiful views from towering bluffs and hiking through a small bamboo forest. This is one of the most scenic in-town hikes in Atlanta. Other points of interest in this hike is a high-elevation overlook as well as a cave!

Note: DO NOT go to the Indian Trail
Meeting time: 8:15am
Meeting Point: Parking lot off of Whitewater Creek Rd
Parking Fee: $5 (or $8?); NOT CASH, paid thru park services website
Elevation Gain: 703ft
Total path: 5-6 miles

Beginners and/or kids (with parent/s) are welcomed, provided you keep up with the pace and do not slow down the whole group.
Dogs are OK while on leash.

Bring: water, snack
Wear: hiking shoes or regular boots; moderate hike; hiking poles are useful.
(There is one short hill which is a bit challenging, otherwise it is a moderate hike).

Please note:

  1. No smoking or vaping while you are with the group.
  2. There is no optional portion of the hike. We all go on the same route.
  3. No shortcuts please!
  4. We will walk at a pace of around 2.5 mph, please do not join if you cannot keep up.
