Let the treasure hunt begin!
We're heading to Brisbane's beloved vintage precinct - West End - for a full day of Opp Shop hopping, book-browsing, and bargain hunting with a like-minded crew.
If you love quirky finds, pre-loved fashion, unique knick-knacks, or just the thrill of the chase, this day is for you.
We'll visit up to six fantastic opp shops and a much-loved secondhand bookshop that locals rave about.
Think racks of vintage clothes, shelves of quirky homewares, hidden collectibles, and aisles of surprise treasures. Whether you're hoping to find that perfect garment that fits just right, a designer label at a steal, or simply something delightfully unexpected, there's no telling what gems the day might bring.
And don't be surprised if someone in the group lets out a cheerful 'Look what I found!' - it's all part of the fun.
No need to worry about long walks, all the shops are within 5 to 10 minutes of each other, keeping the pace relaxed and easy for all.
Midway through the adventure, we'll pause for a sit-down Thai lunch at a warm and welcoming restaurant locals consistently rave about. Lunch is included - a delicious way to relax and refuel before our final oppy stops.

Across the bay and back in time...
Just 21 km east of Brisbane, St. Helena Island sits quietly in Moreton Bay - steeped in stories, secrets, and the grit of early Queensland.

Join us for a story rich guided tour to this remarkable island, once home to Queensland's first penal settlement. We'll travel by ferry across the bay, then set foot on the island where the real-life tales of hardship, escape, resilience, and survival are brought vividly to life.
Guides dressed in convict-era costume lead the way with storytelling and dramatic re-enactments, turning ruins and relics into powerful living history.

🛑 For this meetup adventure we'll also include a 'Meet at Venue' option as well as three suburban meet spots.

🎬 Laughs, Local Finds & Good Times with Friends – Pomona's got it all - heritage charm, a 1920s silent film theatre, country markets, a railway gallery, and a mellow mead stop to wrap it up!
.....This event filled up quicker than a Saturday matinee! New RSVPs will join the Waitlist, and if the Waitlist grows, a second show may just be in the works!
Let's step into a day unlike any other - where old world charm meets good company and a few surprises along the way.
Our adventure takes us north to the Sunshine Coast hinterland, where the real star of the show is the Majestic Theatre in Pomona - a vintage gem that's been delighting audiences since the 1920's. During WWII, it screened films six nights a week for Australian and American troops, with locals queuing up outside (and sometimes even hurling tomatoes if they missed out on a seat!) Today, it's the only theatre in the world that still screens silent films with live musical accompaniment, just as they did a century ago.
The perfect day to step away from the usual and enjoy something truly unique - with friends and a touch of vintage flair.

  Step into the world's longest running silent film theatre
  🎹 Get ready to laugh as we enjoy this classic experience with live music on the pipe organ or piano (it’s a surprise who’s performing!)

• 😉 Our request for a Silent Comedy Film has been confirmed, so be ready for some timeless laughs in a truly unique setting .✔
  🍷 Option to arrive at Theatre early to enjoy a drink or nibbles at the theatre bar between 11am to midday ✔

  Just a 5-minute stroll from the theatre is this quaint little gallery in a heritage-listed station, sharing works from talented local artists
  🌿 Final Stop - A Local Gem with a Twist - Amrita Park Meadery ✔
  To wrap up our day, we'll stop in at Amrita Park Meadery - a small, peaceful spot in the hills with a lovely local feel. You don't have to be a mead lover to enjoy this one - there's also a lovely range of honey products fresh from their own bee hives to check out. It's a relaxed visit where you can try a tasting if you're curious, have a chat with the friendly owners, or just enjoy the surroundings and stretch your legs before our scenic drive back - always more fun with good company on board.

Back in the golden days of cinema, silent films were never truly silent. Live musicians—often on piano or organ—played along with the film, creating all the drama, suspense, and laughter with music alone!
That tradition still lives on at The Majestic Theatre in Pomona. A skilled musician will accompany our screening live, syncing the music to every scene in real time, adding depth and delight to the viewing experience, just as it was done a century ago. It's movie magic with a twist of nostalgia .. something very few places in the world still do!
