We’re off to see the farmer – the wonderful farmer of llamas!
PLUS… giant rabbits, camels, sheep, ducks, miniature goats, ponies, donkeys, peacocks, peahens, Chinese geese, and those lovable Maremma guardian dogs too.
A lively and amusing two-hour hands-on farm experience awaits us at The Llama Farm, where we’ll be surrounded by dozens of curious and cheeky llamas who enjoy visitors as much as we enjoy meeting them! Born and raised on the property, they’re full of personality and charm.
We’ll feed the donkeys, brush the ponies, pat the goats, and maybe even hold one of the enormous Flemish Giant rabbits (yes, Farmer Shane is fully licensed to breed them in Qld). Keep an eye out for Oscar, the rare Blue Suri llama, and marvel at the wide variety of colourful poultry and peacocks wandering freely.
Big kids at heart as we are, this engaging, hands-on country experience is a real refresher for us city folk! Farmer Shane shares the stories, quirks and history of each of his animals — and we’re sure to come away with plenty of “A-ha!” moments and a smile a mile wide.

AFTERNOON AT LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY
After our fun-filled farm morning, we’ll head to the peaceful riverside setting of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary — the world’s oldest and largest koala sanctuary.
We’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch at the Koala Café, soaking up the views across the Brisbane River, before wandering through the sanctuary’s shady walkways. Here, koalas snooze in the eucalypts, kangaroos and wallabies graze nearby, and colourful lorikeets flash past in bursts of colour.
We'll have time to explore at our own pace, with the option to catch the 2.45 Dingo Talk, or simply enjoy feeding the roos, taking photos,
