We are having a Truly Great Time here at O.C. Singles for Christ Church on Friday Nights and we cordially invite YOU to come and have fun with 150 Single Adults and Couples (of all ages).

This coming Friday Night March 31st, 2023, is packed with a Great Evening of Singing, Applicable Teaching, and lots of community time! Also, bring a buddy, they will have a lot of fun too, I guarantee it!

Below is a dossier on what is going on this coming Friday Night!

Care for a Delicious Dinner to start the evening? You are welcome to arrive early and enjoy some Great Food and Fellowship with a freshly made meal to start the evening! This meal is offered to you in our Fellowship Hall, starting at 6:00pm until 7:15pm. Our menu for this Friday Night is: Sweet Baby James BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, served with Fresh Garden Salad, Watermelon Slices, and a refreshing soft drink or bottled water of your choosing. The cost is a crazy low $7.00.

At 7:30pm, Jesica Specht and her Band are back with us to lead our worship segment of the evening. Jesica is a Wonderful Worship Leader, and she will be bringing with her an Awesome Contemporary Worship Band!

After our worship experience, our senior Pastor Thomas Rose is starting a new series entitled "Can God Use Me? Single Adults used by God” Part 2. God throughout the ages has used great people to be used by Him to change the course of history. What about ordinary people, like Single Adults? Can God use me? Join us as we look at several characters from the Bible that God used to change the course of history, and they were SINGLE!

Also, we have a breakout class led by Pastor Mark Presley. He is speaking on "The Holy Spirit". What is the Holy Spirit’s 3-Fold Work in the life of a Christian. Part 3, "The Holy Spirit is UPON as promised by Jesus". How, When and Why?

After our Family Night Gathering, (9:00pm to 11:30pm) you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish and enjoy the various fellowship activities that are available to you. (Karaoke and Hangin' Out and meeting new friends in Fellowship Hall, Ping-Pong in Auditorium). Also, in our Fellowship Hall, FREE light refreshments and Delicious Chocolate Ice Cream Bars, soft drinks and bottled water are available for $1.00!

OCEAN TRAILS - CASUAL BICYCLING - SOCIAL EXERCISE
10:00 –Ocean trails bicycle tour along the coast.
Haven’t ridden a bike in a while? Bike rentals are EZ, and our rides are great for first timers, shy people, and expert riders. Open for all levels but must have a basic level of fitness and be willing and able to ride as part of a supportive group. We are well organized, informal, and fun exercising while socializing.

We have scheduled stops along the way to ‘Group Up’ and hydrate. Bring any kind of bike or rent one. Bikes with gears are recommended. Are you ready for a beautiful fun day?

If this seems too challenging or uncertain – just come and do the first part. This is how the ride is designed. The point is to get out and show up for social exercise in the beauty of where we live. (EZ Bike Rentals – see end of post)

HISTORY OF OCEAN BIKE TOURS
We have led over 300 bike tours over recent years on bike paths, side roads and paved trails (No PCH) along the ocean from Laguna Beach to the Queen Mary. Meet new friends, like-minded people, exercise and enjoy the beauty of where we live. Please read the entire post.

SELF REGULATED FUN
We ride as a safe, supportive group for casual exercise in well-organized rides and everyone is Self-Responsible. You should have a basic level of fitness and show up with a bike in good working order or rent a bike.

10:00 Leaving from the Galley Cafe - 829 Harbor Island Dr in Newport Beach 92660. Come early to eat, relax and meditate.

BIKE RENTALS - EZ
Yes – If you do not have a bike - see the end of this post for all details.

THE RIDE
NOT a ‘pack ride’ and no PCH, keeping to trails and side streets. A few hills that are a positive challenge for single speed bikes. Plan for 4+/- hours and 22+/- miles. Leave from the Galley Café to Bayside Drive to The Dunes, Corona del Mar Heights and then the beaches – then to the Crystal Cove bike paths. A long stretch overlooking the ocean that is perfect for whale spotting. Back to Crystal Cove beach and return. 18+/- Miles.

PICNIC
We will stop at an oasis at Crystal Cove shopping center for a picnic in a shaded veranda. No bike lock needed. Park our bikes and go get food and return to eat together. Trader Joe’s – Starbucks – Pizza – other healthy carryout places to choose from or pack your picnic with you.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Biking and running activities and all outdoor sports outings are rewarding and pleasant activities, but there are common dangers you should be aware of including Covid 19. By signing up for this bike trip, you assume the risks of the outing and agree to release the organization, the trip organizer and other participants from claims for any and all injuries or other losses sustained during this trip. Helmets highly recommended.

BEHAVIOR
Please! – No creepy, negative types, anger issues or controlling behavior invited. This is always a supportive group of like-minded people, and it is important that people feel safe. Some adventurous people are trying Meet Up and a bike ride for the first time and we plan with this in mind.

Park in the Bayside Center Shopping Plaza at Jamboree and Bayside Dr. Walk across the bridge onto Balboa Island on the right-hand sidewalk. 1st building on the right is Sports Rent.
Come early to rent a bike and peddle up Bayside Drive to the Galley Café to be ready for the 10:00 start. As you leave the rental place just stay on the left-hand sidewalk over the bridge and all the way to a left on Harbor Island Drive.

Join us for our spring dance at MoonGoat Coffee Roasters in Costa Mesa! This is a FREE EVENT featuring a night of Fellowship and Fun with coffee and food options to purchase. Live band dancing to Donny and the Walkers.

Donny and the Walkers play the best 80s, 90s, Country, Christian, and Latin swing dance and slow dance music. Enjoy new music by the Walkers and guest vocalists Nick, Greg, Grant, Judi, and others. More info can be viewed on their website DonnyandtheWalkers.com or their Facebook page. Get there by 6:30 pm for a good seat. Band and dancing begin at 7 pm.

Plan to arrive early for good parking, anytime after 6 pm. There is some parking along side of MoonGoat. We will fill their parking lot. Please do whatever you can to share your ride. I was told at the January dance the lot was full and people had to walk some distance. There are some business south of MoonGoat that have open parking. There is no parking on Placentia Avenue. There are neighboring businesses and side streets with parking. Look for and follow parking regulation signs. No one wants a ticket or to frustrate the neighbors.
