The game plan is to hang out and party at the resort, but we may have to head into Centro for dinner at one of my favorite Italian restaurants, Salvatore G's, as well as visit some popular spots like the Office and Cabo Wabo. Also planning on an excursion or two, one of which will definitely include a water activity.
This is a joint event with Eastside Social Club, Seattle Social and Getaways, and Wanderlust: Singles/Solos Who Travel (don't have to be single to travel with us). My 'guests' will be those signed up in other groups.
- Mt Kilimanjaro Trek! One of the 7 Summits. Join other singles in an adventureOverseas Event. You depart Seattle with others, Seattle , WA
Our Meetup is off to another hiking adventure! Mt Kilimanjaro, as the tallest mountain in Africa, is included in the 7 Summits of the world.
It is a bucket-list item for all hard-core hikers and mountain lovers.Let's get to some numbers. It is 5,895m/19,340ft
BUT . . . our starting elevation for the trek is 3795m/12541ft
As such elevation gain is 2100m/6799ft
To compare Everest Base Camp trek, is about 2754m/9035ft elevation change. And Mt Whitney is about 1828m/6000ft elevation change.
The key to being able to succeed in this endeavor lays in the route and the support system.
We are taking the Lemosho Route via the Northern Circuit. The Northern Circuit route is the longest and newest of the seven established Kilimanjaro routes. It's one of the best routes because it has the best acclimatization profile. This results in one of the highest summit success rates. Add to that stunning views, and comparatively relaxed pace. It is also much less crowded than the other Kilimanjaro routes.
As far as our support system: We will be accompanied by experienced guides, porters and cooks. They are certified, ensuring our safety and comfort. Porters will carry our gear.
We will have a high ratio of guides to hikers. Our guides will go our pace and support each and everyone of us, regardless of fitness level. In other words...you go your own speed and we all get there safe.
More about our trek/trip.
As with all our international trips, we picked the best season/time of year to go for weather and wild-life. Lemosho and Northern Circuit is a scenically spectacular and varied route. At the lower elevations it has an abundance of wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, eland and lion which come over to forage during dry season.Another thing we have done for timing is . . . the last stretch to the summit we leave camp at midnight. June 13th will be a Full Moon making it a stunning hike.
Each of our trips is personally crafted to offer the best places and best use of time.
But I don't have the needed gear?!
You don't need much more than the standard trekker's equipment. We will provide you with a list of what is already included and what can be rented there.Does this include food?
All meals on the trek potion are included and a cook travels with us!What is lodging like?
We are sleeping in new and comfortable tents (carried during the day by porters)I am new at this.
That's OK. We do plenty of prep Zooms before we depart. And in California we have a number of local outdoor day or weekend outings you can test out with us.How dangerous is this? What if I get sick or hurt?
We will be walking on an established, well used trail the entire time. Our trip INCLUDES emergency insurance. We are also Certified Wilderness First Responders and our guides are members of (AMREF) Flying Doctor.
Plain and simple, safety is our primary goal. How much does this cost?

- Free Fishing WeekendGreen Lake Park & Ride, Seattle, WA
Event Description
🌟 Free Fishing Weekend at Green Lake: Cast, Learn, and Reel in Memories! 🌟
Calling all fishing enthusiasts, curious beginners, and adventure seekers! 🎣🌿
More Info: https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/freeLicense
No fishing license needed as long as you stick to the species listed on that free fishing weekend page in the event description. Any other specie caught has to be released back. If you don't want to release other caught species back then you will need to buy a fishing license. I recommend not getting the license and just sticking to rainbow trout and bass species.2 Pole Endorsement
We are allowed to use 2 Pole Endorsement on Green Lake without buying it for that weekend.
Two-pole endorsement | Washington Department of Fish & WildlifePrep
I'm not an expert so instead I will redirect you to this guide which you should read thoroughly to know what you need to do. Read it at least one week ahead of time so you can have all your equipment ready. You want to practice reeling, tying bait, etc ahead of time so you are ready. You can also go to outdoor emporium because they have a section in their store that can setup your gear for you and tell you what to buy.Location
We will fish at Green Lake because it is stocked with rainbow trout and very easy to access.
Green Lake | Washington Department of Fish & WildlifeHours
The optimal time is early morning hours right before sunrise and late afternoon: 3 hours before sunset. Since I want to make this event beginner friendly, I'm not planning to start the event early in the morning but you can definitely come early if you want.Cook afterwards
We will have an optional cooking session afterwards where we can cook our catch. If you want to attend, please bring some ingredients and have some recipes in mind. We can cook in my apartment's lounge in Cap Hill. Alternatively if someone else is willing to host cooking we can cook somewhere else too. - Exclusive Hosted Cruise 🛳 7-Day All-Inclusive Alaska CruiseSeward Cruise Ship Terminal, Seward, AK

Despite being part of the United States, Alaska is as far from Uncle Sam’s cities as can be imagined. This is where landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. Where you can witness nature in all her raiment from flora to fauna. Join us as we sail the craggy coasts of this other side of America. Just don’t forget your camera!

- Berry forageGreen Lake Park & Ride, Seattle, WA
Description
St. Edward’s State Park invites you to a captivating adventure of berry foraging. As you step into this lush, sun-dappled forest, the air carries the sweet promise of ripe berries. The towering evergreens create a cathedral-like canopy, their needles whispering secrets of seasons past.
Sun-kissed blackberries dangle like precious jewels, their plumpness inviting your touch. Each berry bursts with flavor—a symphony of tartness and sweetness. As you reach for them, your fingers brush against dew-kissed leaves, releasing an earthy aroma that grounds you in the moment.
Huckleberries, hidden amidst ferns and moss-covered logs, beckon with their dusky allure. Their indigo skins guard a treasure trove of taste—a blend of blueberry and wild magic. You’ll find yourself crouching low, fingers stained purple, lost in the rhythm of gathering.List of wild berries available in July.

- Blackcap raspberry
- Red Huckleberry
- Thimbleberry
Other berries also available in July but no confirmed sightings reported
- Dewberry
- Elderberry
- Oregon Grapes

How to Identify Wild Berry
There are many options but none are fully fool-proof- Observe plant features
- Study wild berries ahead of time to memorize what they look like
- Print out pictures of berries you want to forage so you can use it
- Have the pictures of berries you want to forage saved on your phone
- Use iNaturalist or another app like plantsnap or picture this
- Ask someone in our group
- Pick the berry and post a picture online to foraging groups asking for help with identification.
How to find Wild Berries
Use iNaturalist to look up the reported sightings of berries you wish to target. Once we meet at the Green Lake Park & Ride, we will go to St Edwards State Park to go berry foraging.- Containers to carry what you forage

- Sturdy shoes
- Long pants and full sleeve shirts
- Water and snacks
- Weather appropriate clothing
Liability Form
This form is mandatory. Filling out this form is required for me to move you off waitlist and into the event.
https://forms.gle/AoA92BUoETC4r1DV9Optional Cooking
We will host an optional cooking session if it feels like what we have gathered is worth cooking. I will book a kitchen that we can use for this. I recommend bringing cooking ingredients before you head out to join us for berry foraging so you don't have to go back to get cooking equipment. The kitchen I will book is close to a grocery store too.
Location
We will meet at GreenLake Park and Ride so that we can meet together to carpool. We will then go to St Edwards State Park where it's legal to forage for berries.Risks you agree to assume
