🎸Fifth Monday... An Evening To Connect: Stand By Me, 7/30/18
IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR OUR NEXT: 5TH MONDAY... AN EVENING TO CONNECT! Sing!Sing!Sing!, Houston's no-audition, live music, popup singing group, invites people of all cultures, ages, religion, political persuasion... men, women and children.... to come together on the 5th Monday of July, 2018, for an evening of connection... through song. The idea is simple: to use the power of music to bring together diverse people to share a common hope for a more unified and peaceful community. In Sing!Sing!Sing! fashion, the evening will consist of our live musical team leading us in learning one 3-part harmony song. When ready, we will join voices together to record our "masterpiece". Later, we will post it online. SONG FOR MONDAY, JULY 30: Stand By Me, (Ben E. King, Leiber & Stoller). We will sing in English, Spanish, and who knows? Lyrics will be handed out. Some of our favorite Stand By Me renditions: • Ben E King (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwZNL7QVJjE) • Prince Royce, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foyH-TEs9D0) • Playing For Change, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiPzU75P9FA) NOTE: Ability to sing is NEVER NEEDED for a Sing!Sing!Sing! event as we are far more about having fun and creating connection than singing. * * * * * A Little Background The first time we held this evening was April 30, 2018. We had no idea how many might show. 70 people came. In an hour-and-half, those 70 people learned and sang a 3-part harmony arrangement of Paul McCartney's Let It Be. You can hear the live recording here: https://soundcloud.com/singx3/let-it-be-43018. It was an amazing, joyful night. Now, every time there is a fifth Monday, Singx3 plans to invite all who wish, to come sing. NO SINGING ABILITY is needed, as this evening is about creating connection and joy - the singing is simply what unites us. What we're about

    Welcome All Closet-Shower-Car Singers!

Sing! Sing! Sing! is a No-Audition, popup singing group for those who love to sing - just for the sheer fun and joy of it. We concentrate on learning one pop song a night... once it's to our liking, we record it and post it online on Soundcloud (http://www.soundcloud.com/singx3). Singx3 is very fortunate to have two talented musicians direct us and provide live musical accompaniment: Judi Messina, our professional keyboardist, voice and piano coach and Bill Aspinwall, our guitarist/singer/song writer. (See the Singx3 team below.)

    5TH MONDAY!
Beginning April 30, 2018, every time a fifth Monday shows up on the calendar, Singx3 will hold "5th Monday", a special evening dedicated to bringing together over 100 strangers - diverse people of all age groups, political persuasion, religions and races - to share, through singing, their common hope for a more unified and peaceful society. (Click here (https://youtu.be/XqvKDCP5-xE?t=25s) to see what has inspired this new Singx3 event.) Our next 5th Monday will happen on Monday, July 30, 2018, in Bellaire at Evelyn's Park. 7 - 9 pm $5 at the door. Availability of advanced ticket sales TBA.

    MEETING SCHEDULE
    We meet 7 - 9ish pm every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday.

LOCATION... NOTE: IT CHANGES PERIODICALLY, SO CHECK IT OUT BEFORE COMING!
Most 1st and 3rd Mondays, we meet at the Midtown Bar & Grill in Montrose at 415 W Gray. Over the 2018 summer, however, we may start experimenting with different locations, so please be sure to check out where we'll be before heading out!

Those who can, come early to dine together from 6 - 7. Singing begins at 7 pm and goes to 9:15ish pm.

The results of our 2 hrs of labor? "Imperfect harmony", to be sure. But the fun in making these "masterpieces", (see link below), terrific!

So, that's it! Pretty simple. If you like to sing - in the car, shower or maybe karaoke bars, wherever, we'd love to have you come join the fun. Ability to sing NOT NECESSARY!

    HERE'S A SING!SING!SING! SAMPLE . . .
