About us

Sistahs and Stories: The HoCo Chapter
Our Mission: To provide a soulful space for Black women in Howard County to celebrate Black authors and build genuine sisterhood through literature. We are a "tribe" of friends growing together in 2026 through the power of a good story.

The Commitment: We know how hard it is to find a consistent book club. To make it easy, we meet every 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM at curated spots throughout Columbia and Ellicott City.

Our 2026 Spring/Summer Roadmap:

  • April 19: Drunk on Love by Jasmine Guillory (Light Rom-Com & Brunch)
  • May 17: We Don’t Talk About Carol by Kristen L. Berry (Mystery & Deep Dive)
  • June 29th (due to Father's Day) : Seven Days in June by Tia Williams (Modern Romance & Patio Vibes)
  • July 19: The Taste of Happiness by Uzma Jalaluddin (Contemporary & Comfort Food)
  • August 16: Kin by Tayari Jones (Deep Southern Roots)
  • Sept 20: The Seven Daughters of Dupree by Nikesha E. Williams (Generational Epic)

Ready to join? RSVP for our April kickoff and let’s start reading!
