Before Tokyo, there was another version of you.

Still figuring things out.

You have a few familiar colleagues.
You have a bunch of acquaintances to hang out with.
But it never really feels like enough.
You wish the connections wouldn’t just come and go.
Not only show up when everything is going well.

You're tired of swiping on dating apps.
You've noticed that most parties and meetups leave nothing behind.

You had a reason for coming here.
You’re willing to stay long-term.
You want to build a real life here.

This is the first gathering of Six Seats Tokyo —
six people, one space, one evening.

I’m truly glad to see that so many of us still have hope and faith in genuine communication — and in ourselves.

After receiving DMs asking for extra spots and seeing a growing waiting list, I’ve decided to keep “The Version of Yourself You Left Behind” as an ongoing topic.

I want everyone to know this: you are not alone in the journey of finding yourself, rebuilding yourself, or figuring out your future. Many people are walking that same road quietly.

If Six Seats Tokyo can be a small place where you feel heard, understood, and less alone, then it’s worth doing. I’d be happy to be a listener, a friend, and a source of support along the way.

Some things don't announce themselves loudly.

It's the job you stay in — not because you love it, but because the visa is tied to it, because leaving feels complicated, because later is always easier to say than now.

It's the relationship that almost happened. The situationship you're tired of but haven't ended. The person you keep returning to out of habit, or hope, or the fear that nothing else is coming.

It's a life that got quieter without you noticing.
No new places. No new people. No real desire to try.

It's the family dynamic you've carried for years — the one that costs you something every time, and that you've never quite named out loud.

These things don't always feel urgent. Sometimes they just feel like background noise. But background noise, if you listen to it long enough, is asking you something.

I started Six Seats Tokyo after a heartbreak.

Not just the ordinary kind — the kind where you lose the relationship and then look up and realize you also lost over a year. I had one person, and I built everything around that. I stopped trying things for myself. I forgot I had my own life to construct.

Six Seats began because I needed to be in a room with people who were also figuring things out.
Not performing fine. Not networking.
Just — present, honest, willing to sit with a question that didn't have an easy answer.
This is that room.

One question. Six people. No right answer.
