Our February tech meetup on Thursday Feb 13th at 6:30pm will be at Vinyl Brewing in Hammonton NJ. I'll bring some pizza to start off the evening.

Our topic this month will be:

Spark: Distributed computing in Python
In this talk, we'll cover the basics of multithreading/multiproc­essing in Python and the gap that it leaves. We'll then discuss how Spark can fill that gap and the basics of how that works. We will then move into writing some simple Spark applications and how we can run them locally and on hosted services such as Amazon's EMR.
