Join us for an entertaining, often funny, and sometimes alarming examination of the world’s faulty wiring…and how Seth might have done better than whoever—or whatever—allegedly wrote the blueprints.

- "Satan's Guide to the Bible" Film Screening + Q&A w/ FilmmakersCenter for Inquiry West, Los Angeles, CA$10.00
What is taught about the Bible in Sunday school and in seminaries doesn't always jibe with history or even what the bible actually says. In Satan's Guide to the Bible, a cartoon Satan shares Bible secrets that pastors learn at Christian seminary but are afraid to share with their congregations. Thankfully, Satan's not afraid of losing his job.
Satan has amassed an impressive list of biblical scholars ready to reveal the "standard stuff" taught in Christian seminaries: Bart Ehrman (UNC Chapel Hill), John J. Collins (Yale), Dale Allison (Princeton Seminary), Susan Niditch (Amherst), Ron Hendel (UC Berkeley), and Hector Avalos (Iowa State). This is established seminary curriculum about biblical history, biblical morals, authorship claims, and early Christianity — a curriculum never shared with the congregation.
Darkly comedic, but thoroughly researched, Satan's Guide to the Bible is a fascinating journey into the secrets of the world's best-selling book. Released free on YouTube on Dec. 26 of 2013, the film amassed over a million views in the first 3 months and dozens of response videos.
Directed by documentary filmmaker Zeke Piestrup (Apocalypse Later: Harold Camping Vs. the End of the World) and produced by animation filmmaker Tim Johnson (Antz, Over the Hedge, Home).
Zeke Piestrup is a documentary filmmaker and former TV host. He hosted Fresh for VH1, The Daily Beat on Metro in NYC, and The Daily Habit for Fuel TV. Piestrup’s first film was the award-winning documentary Downhill: The Bill Johnson Story. His second film, Apocalypse Later, documents Harold Camping’s famous 2011 end of the world prediction. Piestrup was the only journalist Camping spoke with daily in the lead up to Judgment Day. Satan’s Guide to the Bible is Piestrup’s third film.
Tim Johnson is an animated feature film director. Raised in and around Chicago, educated in English Literature and Astrophysics at Northwestern University, the young Tim Johnson knew his destiny: Cartoons! The four feature films Tim directed at DreamWorks (Antz, Sinbad, Over the Hedge, Home) earned over $1.2B in global box office. He was also an executive producer on How To Train Your Dragon and Abominable. Tim was a key creative at DWA for 24 years, consulting on over 40 of their animated feature films, TV programs and live stage shows.
