About us
Sketching Circles is a casual gathering for anyone who wants to draw together in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Whether you've been sketching for decades or picked up a pencil for the first time last week, you belong here. We meet regularly to draw from observation, work on our own projects, or just enjoy the company of other people who love putting lines on paper. There's no instruction, no criticism, and no judgment—just the simple pleasure of creating alongside others who get it.
The main thing that makes these circles special is the atmosphere. You'll find everything from detailed realists to abstract doodlers, different ages and backgrounds, all working at their own pace. Some people come for the focused drawing time, some come to chat and share what they're working on, and some come for both. We usually have reference materials available, but you're welcome to bring your own subject matter or just see what happens. Coffee, snacks, and good conversation are usually part of the deal too.
If you've ever felt isolated as an artist or just want a regular reason to sit down and draw, this is for you. No portfolio needed, no experience required. Just bring yourself and whatever materials you prefer, and join us for an afternoon of sketching and community.
