What we’re about

Welcome to Skitchers Get Pitchers; a group of cyclists with adventurous palettes, driven by culinary curiosity in the pursuit of a better biked future for our local communities. Join us for weekly social cycling adventures with musical accompaniment and designated stops for food and drinks! Road warriors are as welcome to join us as anyone but we try to clock more smiles than miles so we rarely sport spandex on our excursions.

What do we do?
We ride bicycles on predetermined routes with planned stops at eateries, breweries, parks, and beaches.  We use marked bike lanes whenever possible, obey traffic laws at all times, go to places that people would traditionally drive to, and present a unified front of respect for everyone with whom we share a road, dining hall, or taproom.

Why do we do this?!
We want to promote cycling as a practical form of transportation for social outings and raise general awareness of cyclists and cycling infrastructure. In the process, we show solidarity with our fellow cyclists by incorporating the local food and drink industry into our rides as much as possible because the vast majority of bike commuters in LA work in that sector. Besides, good food and tasty beverages put the wind in our sails physically and spiritually.

What don’t we do?
No form of harassment is ever tolerated at our events. This is a very creative group of uniquely capable people - do not make yourself the subject of a brainstorm about moral limitations.

Where are we?
Our rides boomerang out from the West Adams neighborhood. The Metro Expo Line stops just a few blocks away which makes it easy to reach for those who wish to join us from afar without adding miles to their pedaling or having to get behind the wheel after a pitcher.
