Salt Lake Oasis Sunday Gathering
Details
Come be part of a community of individuals and families who value people more than beliefs. Some have said it's like going to a Ted talk with live music every Sunday. We meet at 11 AM Mountain Time in the Parker Theatre Studio at 3601 State Street, South Salt Lake. We would love to have you join us for some great topics and socializing!
Join us this Sunday for a very engaging musical keynote from Mindy Dillard and Holly Kirsten:
Singing Resistance
Singing Resistance is a grassroots movement, originating in Minneapolis in January 2026, that uses collective singing as nonviolent protest against ICE operations and social injustice. Participants gather to sing songs of solidarity, grief, and hope, fostering community and building courage in response to systemic violence. The group began following the killing of Renee Good, with actions quickly scaling to hundreds of participants gathering for protests that often occurred in Minneapolis, targeting locations like the Second Ice Hotel. It has grown into a national movement with over 230 chapters, with a repertoire that includes songs like I Am Not Afraid by the Peace Poets. The movement focuses on creating community, processing grief and anger, and providing a voice for justice in challenging times. The movement connects to a long history of protest music and seeks to offer a voice of sanity and hope.
