What we’re about
If you are in the Salt Lake City area and interested in meeting up with other photographers with the same interests as you (FASHION and BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHY) then you have come to the right group! We will all get together a few times a month to do fashion shoots with models, makeup artists and wardrobe stylists. We can all learn from eachother in this group! This group is for building your portfolio!
This is a sister group to LA and OC Fashion Photoshoots which I have been doing for 5 yrs now!

Tawny Horton puts a LOT of effort into organizing these events, and sometimes there are fees, dependent on what and where we are shooting. Please don’t moan about this; it is what it is!

-RULES for the meetup group
If you come to a meetup you will have to agree to these Rules.
The Organizer will provide a Model list with email addresses for you.
1)
Send high res unwatermarked photos to the MODELS/MUAS/ anyone else involved. You can have your watermark on small web sized images but please refrain from using a watermark on the high res photos you send to the models/muas. They need unwatermarked photos for their portfolios!
2)
You must provide at least ONE image of every model you decide to shoot at the meetups. You do not
need to shoot every model that comes, but please provide at least ONE image to the models you worked
with. This is extremely reasonable considering most meetup groups want you to provide 10 or more photos per model to them.
You need to do this within 2 weeks of the meetup. Please dont forget to send the photos to the other creatives we are working with. The Makeup artists/ hairstylists and fashion designers.
3)
Remember these are meetups with a lot of photographers and models. There is no one on one shooting
at these meetups. Please be aware that there will be multiple photographers shooting one model at a time.
(if you do not want another photographer to join in on what you are shooting then you must pay the model
$1 per minute - if you are not paying the model then other photographers are welcome to join in.)

Please try and respect your fellow photographers, dont get right in front of anyone or push and shuv.
This should be a simple rule that you as humans understand! wink emoticon
5) Please upload your photos to the meetup.com page. Search for the event and press upload photos.

We’ll be shooting inside Brightwood, a restored vintage two-story house turned creative studio. Our group will have exclusive access to the entire bottom floor, featuring three unique Christmas-inspired sets:
🎀 The Rose Room (Solarium) – soft pink elegance, glowing with frosted florals and whimsical charm.
🌲 The Cozy Evergreen (The Nook) – warm, nostalgic textures for an intimate holiday mood.
✨ The Conservatory – airy and light-filled, transformed with a stunning Christmas overlay.
Each space offers its own distinct style, perfect for capturing everything from Nutcracker-inspired couture to dreamy, modern holiday fashion.***
## Details for Photographers
📸 Photographers who RSVP: just show up at 2 PM ready to shoot! I’ve planned everything—the models, makeup artists, and wardrobe.
⏰ Timing: Shooting begins promptly at 2 PM. No early birds. We must be fully wrapped and out of the space by 5 PM sharp.
💡 This is a natural light studio, but feel free to bring additional lighting if you prefer.
🎨 This shoot is for portfolio building, not a workshop. However, I’ll be there if you have questions, and you can always learn from your fellow photographers by watching them!***

💄 After the event, I’ll update the comments with who did makeup and hair so tagging is easier.***

## Collaboration Etiquette
- This Meetup does not do group rotations. You are free to shoot with anyone and are not required to shoot with every model.
- Please be friendly and courteous! Expect some one-on-one opportunities but also times when multiple photographers are shooting the same model.
- Do not touch the models without asking. Always ask first before adjusting their pose.
- No generators or cords that could cause tripping hazards.
