Sunday Sketchin' - Filipponi Ranch & Winery

Details
Let's get our Sketch on! Now that it's September, let's kick off the official 'wine month' and harvest season with a series of Central Coast winery sessions. No wine purchase necessary to attend - just come to soak up the amazing scenery and vibes.
First on our list is Filipponi Ranch - who hosts a Sunday concert series throughout the month. Let's listen to some music and draw the band, surrounding hills, or people enjoying the ambiance of this special place.
Note: the earlier start time. The venue closes at 5 so this allows some extra time to linger after should we desire.
We'll meet in far the back of the music/event space in the open grass area. Bring a blanket or chair if you want something to sit on. I'll be sure to have some sparkling waters available but feel free to bring some food or drinks as well as I believe only wine is available for purchase.

Fine print: Typically, we get two sketches in per event. Plan for about 30-40 mins per session – this gives us the ability to draw the same space from different angles or pick up and walk to another nearby spot to keep things fresh and interesting. Before, between, and after sessions, we'll do a quick group introduction/share of what we created - in order to support and inspire each other while reinforcing the communal aspects of the group.
Things to consider before joining session:
- Skill level: All ages and abilities welcome. No sketching experience needed. This is a non-judgemental supportive environment that encourages you to express yourself however you want. If you have any mobility considerations please let me know so we can factor that into the route/destination.
- Supplies: Be sure to bring a sketchbook and something to draw with. I'll have some extra pens and watercolor kits if anyone wants to experiment or forgets something. A small shoulder bag is helpful so you're not carrying everything in your hands. (*Note that I recommend drawing in pen (mistakes are your friend!) and on a smaller sketchbook rather than a large pad given the short duration (small = fast)).
- Sitting: We typically sit wherever we can. On the ground, a bench (if available), on a wall. If you need it, bring something like a towel or blanket to sit on if concerned about dirt or comfort. (*Note we'll prioritize shady spots when we can depending on heat/sun).
- Weather: Bring a jacket as it cools off in the evening and or hat/sunscreen as we may be in direct sunlight for up to 45 mins at a time. If the weather gets real bad we can go indoors or reschedule.
- Questions & RSVP: Reach out so I can answer them. If you can't make it, be sure to update your reservation in advance so I have a good idea of final head count for planning purposes.
