About us
Welcome! This is a no-pressure social hiking group for women 40+ who want to get outside, enjoy SLO County’s beautiful trails, and connect with other women while doing it.
What you can expect:
- Social hikes and trail walks of 2 to 5 miles
- A variety of terrains, from oak woodland to coastal bluffs
- Routes with varying levels of difficulty, from easy to moderately-strenuous
- Moderate pace (2mph, on average)
- A supportive atmosphere where no one gets left behind
This is not a competitive or fast-paced group. You don’t need fancy gear or trail expertise, just a willingness to show up and enjoy being outside with other women!
Because I’m not a morning person, I'll mostly be scheduling afternoon or early evening hikes on weekends and during the week. As the group grows, I hope to bring in additional hike leaders to schedule hikes and walks at various times of day to keep things active and inclusive.
I’m always open to questions, ideas, and trail suggestions. Hope to meet you soon! 🌿🥾

Hearst Castle Tour ($35) + Bluff Walk @ San Simeon Point
Hearst Castle, 750 Hearst Castle Rd, San Simeon, CA, USPLEASE DON'T RSVP UNTIL YOU'VE PURCHASED A TICKET IF YOU PLAN TO JOIN THE TOUR (SEE DETAILS BELOW).
Let's do the 1:00pm Cottages & Kitchen Tour at Hearst Castle (one of my favorites!) and then walk the bluffs at San Simeon Point (3-4 miles total) just across the highway afterward. If you've never been, they are both sights to behold!
One of the advantages of taking the smaller tours is that they max out the number of participants at 14. It's a much more intimate experience with a smaller group, but that also means there are far fewer tickets, so buy yours NOW. These tickets are open to the general public and they could sell out at any time.
Choose the Cottages & Kitchen Tour on 05/31 at 1:00 pm.
Buy tickets here: https://hearstcastle.org/tour-hearst-castle/daily-tours/cottages-kitchen-tour/
If you're worried about losing money if you can't make it for some reason, know that Hearst Castle is run by California State Parks and they have a very forgiving cancellation policy. You can cancel up to 1 hour before the time of your tour and get a refund, minus a $5.50 cancellation fee.
Agenda for the Day
12:30 - Meet in front of Visitor Center

2:45-3:30 - Lunch near San Simeon Pier (bring your own brown bag lunch and plenty of water for the day, plus a jacket, hat, and sunscreen)
3:30-5:00 - Walk on the bluffs (depending on how overgrown the last section of the trail is, we may not walk all the way to the end)You can join us for the bluff walk only, but please let me know in the comments. In this case I will move your name to the waitlist in order to keep the limited number of spots open to those who want to join the tour.
