About us
Welcome! This is a no-pressure social hiking group for women 40+ who want to get outside, enjoy SLO County’s beautiful trails, and connect with other women while doing it.
What you can expect:
- Social hikes and trail walks of 2 to 5 miles
- A variety of terrains, from oak woodland to coastal bluffs
- Routes with varying levels of difficulty, from easy to moderately-strenuous
- Moderate pace (2mph, on average)
- A supportive atmosphere where no one gets left behind
This is not a competitive or fast-paced group. You don’t need fancy gear or trail expertise, just a willingness to show up and enjoy being outside with other women!
Because I’m not a morning person, I'll mostly be scheduling afternoon or early evening hikes on weekends and during the week. As the group grows, I hope to bring in additional hike leaders to schedule hikes and walks at various times of day to keep things active and inclusive.
I’m always open to questions, ideas, and trail suggestions. Hope to meet you soon! 🌿🥾

2-Peak Challenge: Islay Hill + Righetti Hill (3.3 Mi; 875' Elev. Gain)
Islay Hill Trailhead (end of Sweet Bay Ln), 1356 Sweet Bay Lane, San Luis Obispo, CA, USLet's challenge ourselves with two peaks in one evening: Islay Hill and Righetti Hill. I did a trial run recently and it was super fun!
Join us for one hike only or both. We will have views of Righetti Hill in the distance on the Islay Hill hike and views of Islay Hill in the distance on the Righetti hike!
Some of us may decide to grab a bite and a drink afterward, maybe at Oak and Otter or SLO Brew.
- Islay Hill Hike: Meet at 5:30pm at the end of the cul de sac near 1356 Sweet Bay Lane, San Luis Obispo
- Righetti Hill Hike: Meet at 6:45pm at 4000 Hillside Drive, San Luis Obispo
It's only 3.3 miles total for both hikes combined, but they are both steep, strenuous hikes. The combined total elevation gain for both hikes is 875 feet.
